Nicklaus Well written prog metal with a unique voice and style that make this album a pearl of the genre. Favorite track: Narcissus and Echo.
Kelly Phillips

Kelly Phillips If you combined the layered, sonorous, ethereal vocals of Imogen Heap with the intelligent writing and futuristic themes of a Between the Buried and Me or Coheed and Cambria space-opera into a large hadron collider, you'd get Chiasma. I can sit back and enjoy this album start to finish, and have many, many times. There is always something new to discover in the galaxy of beautiful vocals, djenty riffs, and complex songwriting it sucks you away into. Favorite track: Fourier Transform.

Currents 02:25
Starboard Correct course Forge on Till the bitter end Reach higher Attune With everything to prove Desire Marooned The currents cleaving you
2.
Starboard 05:19
Starboard! Block the windows Starboard! Somebody block the windows Does this need define me? Does it seal me? Can its space confine me? Leave me be! Breathe in One lungful at a time If only I could name it A fool’s errand to know myself A grand terror to put my trust in you Drawn in by the currents Alone adrift the ocean’s not so bad Given to its motion Red on the horizon, following Hunting down a phantom This vessel has no ropes to help you aboard Drowning in the currents Board up all the windows There’s a storm ahead! Just go away Just draw me closer Follow along, make haste to me I don’t know how long I can hold her Follow along Hurry along Follow along, catch up to me I don’t know how long I can hold her Follow along If I could just find the questions Maybe you’d know the answers But I see clouds in the distance to you

Some kind of reckoning slowly clouding up the air -Breathe your last, we’re finished Ignored the balances, couldn’t say we’re oblivious -Not anymore, not anymore Transform to furtherment; cooperation breeds compassion -Let’s play nice together Transform to betterment But we never learned to share it -Prepare for warmer weather We saw it in the water first Then it pothered up the air It felt as though the ground had burst With that final ripping tear Fourier! I can’t make sense of what you’ve done But I think I’d like to, I think I’d like to Oublier waging odds against the sun So tell me what you think; when we’re crawling in the ashes -Take my hand, I’m sinking Will we commiserate? Or abandon all compassion? -Oh god what were you thinking? Go on and hedge your bets! I think there’s still some optimism -Is this our last decision? For some kind of avalanche that will bury our divisions -A million prayers rewritten Fourier! I can’t make sense of what you’ve done But I think I’d like to, I think I’d like to Oublier waging war against the sun Fourier! Our fragile web has come undone And I think I’d like to, I think I’d like to Trouver a way back to the form we’re from This analysis has lost its fun These pretty dreams will save no one La papillone délaissé La cabaliste délaissé La composite délaissé La passion renoncé Oh god what have we done? I want more of this I want more from this But we abandon our passions and run

Afterglow 05:34
A billion crowd in to gawk and stare To see the fruits of their labor worn and bare They say, “that’s not my choice, I would’ve turned it all around if I’d been given the foresight.” The soul burns us asunder Alone But what am I to become? My empire reaches to the sun No peers among you Alone The Making, Craving It was there to take Destroyer, Molder, in my hands to shape I couldn’t love someone without losing And I saw something in the light I didn’t want to see: Me A mirror pierced inside Light-soaked in afterglow Who would’ve thought you’d get this far? You're a god now. A god! Blood-soaked in aftermath They’ll be speaking your name now! You're a god now Alone Here at the end of life I see I’m not what I wanted to be Here at the end of light I feel These towers won’t deliver me Keep on, eyes on the prize Just wait until I show you how! Don’t tell me what I can’t do Don’t look back I have nothing to give you! Stay on track This sacrifice is needed to become what I should Keep strong, eyes on the prize Just wait until I show you! Light soaked in afterglow, I always knew I’d get this far I’m a god now. A god! Blood-soaked in aftermath, they’ll be speaking my name now! I’m a god now Alone With all the rights I claimed I created all I was I’m a god now. A god! Defend your cowardice But you reap what you sow I’m a god now! Alone Light fading All I want is you Heart straining Built it all for you I know they never really knew Who I was

Circles 04:14
I thought the ground beneath me was solid A straight line to the past A shimmer in the dark A subtle shift to the side A grappling of the heart A door I don’t remember Fleeting seconds and ever-evolving The orbit chases its elliptical end And around and around again it circles And who among us can see outside? Straight ahead, keep on straight ahead There’s naught but an illusion of this moment It’s just another race Another movement in this never-ending space Another movement in this never-ending change Please don’t change A shimmer in the dark Almost understanding Familiar to the heart A language I don’t remember Almost there, please keep still I need your anchor Moving targets with no true center A mind defying its own dimensions And we’re left with just a notion

Trust in the system Take the conveniences at their word Accept the death that’s dealt you Ignore the grievances left unheard The paradox of living The bait and switch of reluctant worth that’s assigned to you The singular sight of your virtues To be abused Do you know the way out? Can you show me? Dreaming all the way to the other side Give your blood and sweat to another life Waiting for your stop, just enjoy the ride Valued passenger I brought you here! -Don’t pretend like you own me And I can take you away! -Like your promises earned me Soporific No I’m not one of a kind I’m a chiasmatic passenger Two systems combine So tell me why I feel so well defined! Stuck in this cold design Entitled to the planet Entitled to your time in space Inherently disparate Too short-sighted to know your place You stand apart! -Don’t pretend like you know me Separate from the stars! -Like your torment controls me No I’m not one of their kind A skyward gazing passenger Bound for the divine So tell me why I feel so deprived! Inherently denied Soporific traveler, you keep on waiting to arrive Well your dominion’s growing weary of it If you’re so set apart, why’re you wondering where you are? I think the traveling’s taken its toll on you The false starts and panicked beginnings Fall in love with the secrets of the fall Unbound heart Don’t know what you came for Embrace the tired unrest that you are
7.
Urgent 03:11
Imagine for a moment Could you? That we're wrong You stop time for a moment Just stop time for an instant Maybe then I wouldn’t have try so hard Maybe then our differences wouldn’t feel so urgent I feel it slipping by me I know it’s gone right by me I can’t seem to control it Nothing I do will slow it Urgent But time won’t tell We've naught to sell
8.
Were you the one calling my name? Because I didn’t seem to hear you. Are you now staking your claim? Well I’m just a little bit busy -Reflecting truths upon the water’s call -Pretty face unrequited after all Don’t test me! I’ve transcended beyond the plane of the living Respect me! At least I have found a voice of my own. Ha! Let’s evaluate the history ‘Cause I’m not the slightest bit inclined to speak to you Narcissus I’m tired of calling right back to you Done chasing a flower that never truly blooms Narcissus I’m tired of looking right back at you You’re wasting away for a love you never knew But oh Deep down it shows Shows who you are; not who you boast Deep down it shows how lonely you are My poor confused darling Let me put it in a way you can understand: “I’d rather die than you should have me!” You don’t seem to be blinking I’m not sure you’re even thinking Oh, how fitting indeed That you should break your own heart But what if we put our mirrors together? We could do this forever Turned our mirrors together We could do this forever In fractals I found you I am you Don’t stop the feedback loop In it I found you You have taken my soul! -This vanity clings to me, taking its hold Your visage echoes! -This image, it sings to me, leading me home You have taken control! -The water, it calls to me, making me whole You are not fit to love! -No specter can conquer me but my own

Fighter 06:04
A beautiful ending was never enough to give to you So how can this damage be dealt you instead? The best of us all was always enough for you But I can’t live with it I don’t know why you tried To find the will to fight Betrayed from the start but how you tried To find the will to follow me Your sisters are waiting Follow me, love Go on home They’re all there waiting for you Trust me now, Fighter “I’ve been blessed with enough” Is what you told me You’re safe now, Fighter “We all have mountains to climb” But yours was too damn high I don’t know why you tried To find the will to fight The earth had taken it all and yet you tried To fight the need to leave me Your sisters are waiting You’re set free, love Go on home They’re all there waiting for you Trust me now, Fighter “There’s a reason for this” Is what you told me You’re safe now, Fighter “Someday you’ll see the meaning” I haven’t seen it since your leaving Believe me now, Fighter What about your daughter? What about your son? What about the husband you loved so much? You’re home now, Fighter I can’t believe that I never said goodbye ------ For Tami

Blink blink blink in an instant it will all be over Think think in an elemental song Sync sync sync to the cadence of a new beginning Link link all the pieces that you've found What has it cost me to ignore all the violence I'm made of? The currents that brought me leave a silence that will echo on and on But did you even think of us like we were- just down below trying hard to hear you? Dreaming loudly Seeing barely Still so small Yet caused it all But I don't blame you anymore I blame myself What do you want from me? Let me be part of this or let me go! I should be part of this! Let me be part of this! We should be part of this If I could just find the questions Maybe you'd know the answers If I could just find the questions
